An event to mark the handover of the IHRA Presidency to Israel, was organized by the Israeli Embassy in Beijing,
and attended by foreign diplomats and representatives from the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In her opening remarks, the Israeli Ambassador to Beijing, H.E. Irit Ben-Abba, shared the latest data on antisemitism rates in the region. The Chair of IHRA Presidency, Mr. Dani Dayan, discussed the challenges of preserving Holocaust remembrance as we stand at a "Crossroads of Generations" and approach a world without survivors.
At the end of the event, attendees were invited to sign the Survivors' Declaration, a document written in 2002, representing a moral commitment to preserve and promote the memory of the Holocaust.
