A series of events were held in Jerusalem to mark the handover of the Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) from the United Kingdom to Israel.
These included:
Hosting outgoing IHRA UK Chair Lord Eric Pickles and IHRA’s new Secretary General, Michaela Küchler
Meetings with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
A handover ceremony at the MFA Israeli delegation with online participation of the entire IHRA community.
During the ceremony, Lord Pickles and SG Küchler took up the call by incoming IHRA Chair Dani Dayan to sign and thus reaffirm the historic "Survivors' Declaration", a key Israeli Presidency global initiative.
